Branded Sticky Notes also known as Post It note pads branded with your company logo and contact details certainly make a practical promotional giveaway. Did you know that the famous Post It note was invented in 1977 by a scientist, Dr. Spencer Silver from a company called 3M. Since then, promotional sticky note pads have subsequently become a hugely popular branded desktop giveaway. A sticky note pad consists of a small piece of paper with a low tac strip of glue along the reverse of the paper. Generally 50 post it sheets are combined together into a block which when combined becomes a sticky note pad. A low tack pressure-sensitive glue adhesive allows each note to be easily removed and re posted anywhere without leaving any marks or residue.
Sticky notes are small, rectangular pieces of paper with a sticky adhesive on one side. They are often used to jot down notes, reminders, or ideas and then stick them to a surface such as a desk, computer monitor, or wall. Sticky notes are a popular tool for organization, brainstorming, and communication.
Sticky notes were invented by Spencer Silver, a chemist at 3M, in the late 1960s. Silver was attempting to develop a stronger adhesive, but instead, he created a low-tack adhesive that would stick to surfaces but could be easily removed without leaving residue. However, it wasn't until 1977 that his colleague Art Fry came up with the idea of using the adhesive to create a reusable bookmark, which eventually evolved into the modern sticky note.
Today, sticky notes are available in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, and have become a ubiquitous tool in offices, classrooms, and homes around the world. They are also known by various names, including Post-its (a trademarked term by 3M), repositionable notes, and memo pads.
